oriented Christian Rally with gospel singers and preachers. Located
at southeast corner of Route 66 and Milfay Road approximately 2 miles

Tom Paxton - This highly
acclaimed very influential folksinger moved to Bristow in 1948 when
he was ten and graduated from Bristow High. See Fun

Dennis Mansker - This
author of "A Bad Attitude: A Novel from the Vietnam
War" humbly considers himself only "almost
famous". He lived with his parents on a dairy farm north of town
and went to Edison Elementary from 1951-1955, until moving away to
the Pacific Northwest when he was ten. To this day he has many pleasant
memories of what he considers his "home town". A copy of
his novel is in the Bristow Library and is soon to be a major motion

OLYMPIC STYLE BOXING CLUB - TRAINING AND BOXING MATCHES
- Coach Dennis Kendall is bringing the sport of amateur boxing to
Bristow. His Dog Pound Boxing Gym will train boxers from ages 8 to
16 and will host regional area competitions with other boxing clubs.
The boxing competitions will be held in Bristow and open to the public
for a nominal charge. Competition dates to be announced - watch for

NEW ROUTE 66 AREA ATTRACTION - Motorcross Track / Motor Cycle
Rally Grounds Underway - On 80 acres at the southeast corner
of Route 66 and Milfay Road west of Bristow and 2 miles
west of Depew, Charles Elliott is constructing a facility for motorcycle
rallies that will also house a motorcross track scheduled to be ready
for competition next year. It will include approximately 50 RV sites
and campsites for motorcyle riders and have a 30x40 stage. The first
rally is set for July 1-3 and will be a family oriented
Christian Rally with gospel singers and preachers.
